Losing your hair is a deeply personal concern that can affect your self-esteem and how others perceive you. Thankfully, you do not have to live with hair loss any longer. Dr. Browning understands how to treat male and female pattern baldness and understands how personal a condition like hair loss can be.

What Can I Expect During PRP Hair Restoration Procedures?

The procedure begins with drawing a small amount your own blood. Once the blood is separated through the centrifugation process and the PRP is ready for injection, Dr. Browning will carefully administer a series of injections into your scalp. The Platelet Rich Plasma will release growth factor proteins that begin stimulating your body to awaken dormant hair follicles to reactivate them, causing them to once again produce healthy strands of hair.

A ring-block of local anesthesia of 1% lidocaine or a topical numbing agent may be applied to provide more comfort during the process.

Potential Benefits of PRP Hair Restoration

Platelet Rich Plasma injections will stimulate your hair growth and provide greater density of hair if your hair is becoming finer and thinner. Hair restoration with PRP is a natural and safe treatment. It is proved to be more effective than most topical products on the market and gives people a solution to avoid hair transplant surgery. Patients with thinning, but not totally bald, areas are the best candidates for this type of therapy.

How long does the procedure take?

If Dr. Browning decides that PRP hair loss therapy is appropriate, he can begin your treatment at the time of your initial visit. Each treatment with PRP typically takes between 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Since this is a minimally invasive treatment, there is virtually no down time. You may return to your daily activities as soon as you leave our office. You may experience some mild tenderness and swelling at the injection sites. This is normal and should subside within a few days.

What Is The Typical Treatment Plan?

It is recommended that you receive three to five treatments for optimal results 4 to 6 weeks apart. Depending on your progress, follow up treatments may only be needed twice yearly. Some improvement can be expected in the first 2-6 months. Dr. Browning will modify your treatment schedule based on your individual response to PRP hair restoration therapy at your follow up appointment.

If you are suffering from the early stages of hair loss, PRP hair restoration can help you ward off the progression of the condition.
